Adventurer Guro Midtmageli grew up on a farm in Gudbrandsdalen in mid Norway, surrounded by forests and with the freedom to explore. Her early memories are of hiking and skiing with parents and grandparents, creating a lifelong love of the outdoors.

Her adventurous spirit took her away from Scandinavia after she finished school, to live in a small town in Portugal called Sarges. She fell in love with the country - and also with surfing. And for the next few years that's what she did!

Now Guro lives on the west coast of Norway, in a small town called Volda. She is studying a course in environmental studies and outdoor recreation, while enjoying the best of both worlds - the mountains and the ocean.

Somewhere along the way I started to get more and more interest in photography.” Guro explained to Nordique. “Capturing the pure moment. This is a huge passion of mine, and I really hope I’ll be able to do it for a living in the future.”

G: “This picture is taken in Hoddevik, a small little surf bay in western Norway. Its always great to spend time there. Good surf and amazing people.

G: This is my favourite place, where the ocean meets the mountains. So wild. Always feeling so free and inspired out there. This is also on the west coast, not too far away from Volda.

G: “This was a cold and crisp October morning. One of the few days without rain and wind. The water was so glassy, and we were so lucky to be in the middle of it all. This picture is taken at Flø.

G: “We woke up really early to catch the morning light and the waves. It was one of those days where the surf looks like its too small, but in reality it was so so much fun. Everybody catching waves.

G: From Volda, where I live, wherever you go if you go up high, the view is amazing. Overlooking fjords and mountain rangers. This photo is taken on the way down from a little mountain called Helgehornet

G: This photo is taken in Jotunheimen. One of Norway’s national parks. One of the most beautiful places I think. I work up in this national park during summer, as a mountain and glacier guide. The surroundings makes you feel small. So powerful.”

G: “This is taken in "Sunnmørsalpene" early season last year. We were so excited to finally go touring again.

G:This is Kolåstinden, also called the "King" of Sunnmøre. And with reason. the photo is taken on one of the cold and clear days last winter.

G: This photo is taken in Sunnmørsalpene. It was late afternoon and the sun was about to set. I saw this opening with light and waited until my friend hit the light.”

G:This photo is taken last summer in Visdalen in Jotnheimen. My sister and I took our lunch break outside that day, both working in the mountains.

G:This picture is taken in "Visdalen" in Jotunheimen. Visdalen is one of the riches valleys in Jotunheimen, very green and a lot of plants. This is taken this summer on the way up to the glacier.

G: “This is taken in Hoddevik. The straight road there makes it perfect for skating. A lot of people do that in between surf.”

G: “This photo it from one of our hikes last fall. When we went to sleep it was pouring down, but we were very lucky to wake up to this. Very moody.”
