Meet Sofia Björkesjö from the small coastal town of Kalmar in Sweden. Here she is sharing her passion for photography and how she tries to see the beauty of every moment in her daily life!
“With my pictures I want to show beautiful moments in both nature and in my everyday life.”
Sofia: I live in the coastal town of Kalmar in southern Sweden. My absolut biggest interest is photography and I love taking long walks in the evenings with my camera to take pictures in the soft evening light, this is when I think the light is the best!
I started exploring photography when I was a young child, and became more serious when I got my first digital camera at the age of twelve. For me it became obvious to start taking pictures of nature as I always lived close to nature and very much enjoyed walking in the forest. I usually shoot with Canon 6D and 50mm 1.4. When I can't bear to carry the system camera, I use the Panasonic DMC-LX15 compact camera.
With my pictures I want to show beautiful moments in both nature and in my everyday life. I like to work with the soft natural light, and prefer to photograph in the early morning or evening when the sun is low in the sky. Hopefully, those who see my pictures will be inspired to go out and maybe take pictures, or just take a wonderful walk in nature and take in the beauty that is around us.
The best thing about living and exploring Scandinavian nature is the changing seasons. I love the seasons and how nature and light outside change throughout the year.
My favourite photo spot is down by the sea in the small community where I grew up. For me, it is very soothing to photograph there, and at the same time breathe and take in the calm that the sound of the sea gives me.
