If you haven’t been to Norway yet, you will start planning your trip after seeing Steffen Fossbakk’s Instagram account. He takes some breath-taking images of Norway’s beautiful nature and landscape.
Steffen is from Finnsnes in Norway, Senja’s closest neighbour.
Other than taking amazing images, what do you do?
For work I work night shifts in a bakery every other week. This basically means I have about 200 days of each year that gives me time to do what I love.
In general, I'm a nature photographer playing around with landscapes, wildlife etc. Basically just having fun with my camera and friends.
You Instagram account is fantastic! When did you start and what's the idea behind it?
I was early on Instagram, around the beginning of 2012 maybe? Well, in the beginning it was just random posts, you know, daily life stuff. Then eventually I turned it around and started posting my DSLR photos. In late 2015 I started taking it more seriously, and now I use Instagram to showcase my work, build a network and get my name out there. It's both a hobby and a job.
What equipment do you use?
I'm a Nikon guy and have been so ever since I started with photography in 2004. Right now I use the Nikon D800 and a DJI Mavic Pro.
What are your future goals?
To turn my hobby into my full time job.
What's your most treasured possession?
I'm not very materialistic so I don't own any things I truly treasure. I'm just thankful for what I have.
How do you like spending your time off?
Either traveling and shooting, or just relaxing at home or with the family.
What's your favourite Norwegian;
Spot? Inste Kongen, a mountain in Senja island.
Food? Salmon and fish in general
Drink? Captain Morgan and Coke
