A splash of colour

A splash of colour

We love this playful home in Vesterbro, Denmark created by the architect and design practice RUM4 in Copenhagen. It's full of retro charm, but manages to keep a minimalistic and modern feel that's so typical of Nordic design.

The white walls and floors really bring out the strong colours in the feature pieces, creating a bold, striking look. The use of picture clusters is particularly effective at creating this feel, and we love the colour co-ordination which creates maximum impact.

The de-cluttered, simple style of this apartment means that every item has a role to play in creating the overall feel of the home. Here the birchwood-effect shelving is a modern but functional furniture piece, with the 1960s inspired night stand decorative items a nice, colourful set-off.

A fantastic splash of orange colour - it adds a real warmth to this bedroom.

Adorable kids room - the monochrome wall paper adds an extra bit of fun!
