A slice of Nordic architecture (on the other side of the Atlantic!)
These stunning artists studios are located on Fogo Island in Newfoundland on the Canadian Atlantic coast. They are the brainchild of Norwegian architecture firm Saunders Architects, based in Bergen. There are six studios in all, set across various locations on the island. The bold, clean lines and white-washed textures used on these buildings are clear indications of the influences of contemporary Nordic architecture.
The Shorefast Foundation and the Fogo Island Arts Corporation did commission this project to preserve the Islanders’ traditions and aiming to rejuvenating the island through the arts and culture.
