Danish designer Hans J. Wegner (April 2, 1914 - January 26, 2007) created a series of chairs that helped establish Denmark as an International leader of modern design. In his lifetime he designed over 500 different chairs and one of his most successful designs is the Wishbone chair, also known as the Y chair.

This design is an excellent example of Wegner’s constant striving towards organic simplicity to create sculptural beauty, comfort and outstanding stability.

The original manufacturer, Carl Hansen & Son, has produced the Wishbone chair in large volumes for over fifty years.
