A White Christmas
With Christmas less than a week away, we wanted to share some beautiful examples of Scandinavian Christmas decorations, in case you needed some last minute inspiration before the weekend! We love how the bright whites and natural wood colours can combine to create a look that is wonderfully cosy, and unmistakably Scandi!
'Julstjärnor' (Christmas stars) are a very common sight in Swedish homes. They are hung from the window frame or curtain rail and are lit up at night time, with a small bulb inside them. It creates for quite a beautiful sight if you look at an apartment block from the outside - with almost every window featuring a gorgeous starry centrepiece!
Christmas trees are, like many countries, a real feature of the living room in a Scandinavian home at Christmas. We love the simple, uncluttered look that can be created though with a minimalist approach. It might not be traditional, but an undecorated tree can look very striking, and can allow other features in the room to stand out too.
Candles and pine cones on the Christmas table - just imagine how nice and Christmassy this smells!
Whites and neutral tones can still create a warm and homely festive spirit! This is a more unusual Nordic look, with more feature pieces and decorative items, with a nod to traditional features (such as the julstjärnor in the background!)
